"Our Quality of Life Fosters Opportunity"

NewsYouth Advisory Committee Seeking Motivated Youth

The City of Yucaipa is seeking determined and hardworking young adults interested in serving on the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC).  As a member of YAC, you will learn City processes and how to be an effective spokesperson for youth issues. Meetings take place on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the City Hall Community Meeting Room. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 25 and attend school or live within City boundaries. The Chair of YAC, Taylor TerBest states, “I am very passionate about youth involvement in the community and I believe the teens within the City of Yucaipa need to be more involved. YAC provides an opportunity for youth to get involved in their community and local government. I have learned many important concepts while on YAC but the notion that exceeds the rest is teamwork. Teamwork has been a vital lesson that I have learned while being on YAC. For example, YAC is focusing on putting together the first annual Yucaipa Color Run. I strongly encourage the youth to join the YAC.”

Applications for YAC are available on the City’s website (www.yucaipa.org).
