Tax Roll Billing

The City of Yucaipa implemented tax roll billing for the collection of waste disposal fees with the adoption of Ordinance No. 373.  Tax roll billing will:

  • Address delinquent service fee collections and reduce staff time required to prepare and process liens. Over the past five years, the following number of delinquent accounts were placed on the solid waste lien list that was submitted to the County of San Bernardino for addition to the property tax rolls as a special assessment: 2018 – 978, 2017 – 675, 2016 – 648, 2015 – 775, 2014 – 926
  • Reduce paper waste, which will assist the City in meeting the State Mandated Diversion requirements.
  • Reduce the carbon footprint with electronic delivery of invoices and newsletters

Single-family residential customers will pay refuse collection charges for the July 2019 – June 2020 service period when they remit their property tax payments to the San Bernardino County Auditor/Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector office in December 2019 and April 2020.  The City will receive payments from the San Bernardino County Auditor/Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector office, which will be forwarded to Yucaipa Disposal.  Yucaipa Disposal would then credit these funds to the proper residential customer accounts and remit to the City the Franchise Fees and Household Hazardous Waste Fees.
