The City of Yucaipa continually honors its veterans and active military personnel for their sacrifices to this country and unyielding bravery. The City continues to explore opportunities to provide  well-deserved recognition to Yucaipa veterans and active military personnel through the annual Veteran’s Day Program, the Commemorative Recognition Program, and the Hometown Heroes Military Banner Recognition Program.

Veteran’s Day Program

An annual ceremony takes place on November 11th to honor our veterans who have served our country so selflessly. Please check back for ceremony details next November. Remember to fly your flag proudly on Veterans Day and take a moment to honor and thank a veteran.

Commemorative Recognition Program

The City of Yucaipa is seeking nominations from the community for the Vietnam Veterans 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony to be held during the Veteran’s Day Ceremony on November 11, 2016 at the Yucaipa Community Park Amphitheater.  If you know of someone that has served in the United States Military between November 1, 1955 and May 15, 1975, please download the Nomination Form, provide required documentation, and deliver to the Yucaipa City Hall, 34272 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa, CA 92399, Attention: Todd Gutjahr, Community Services Supervisor.  Nominations are due on or before November 9, 2016.  For additional information, please contact Todd Gutjahr at (909)797-1177.

Hometown Heroes Military Banner Recognition Program

The Hometown Heroes Military Banner Recognition Program honors residents and immediate family members (spouse, child, grandchild, sibling) who are serving on active duty in the United States Armed Forces.  Banners are installed at least twice a year and remain on display for a minimum of two years or until the serviceperson is no longer serving on active duty.
