The Vector Control Committee’s primary responsibilities include making recommendations to the City Council regarding the following types of vector control matters and issues:
- Review and evaluate any issues or concerns regarding rural, commercial and recreational animal raising and agricultural activities
- Review the annual manure management plans submitted for each ranch
- Review and evaluate proposed changes to ranch management strategies
- Review and evaluate new vector control technologies that may become available to reduce adverse impacts associated with ranch operations
Meetings are held on an as-needed basis.

The Committee is composed of ten members that are either residents, property owners, or business owners of the City of Yucaipa. Committee members include two representatives of the poultry industry, two staff members, one Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor, three members of the general public, and two members of the City Council. Each member and advisory member shall serve at the pleasure of his or her appointed Councilmember.
