The Healthy Yucaipa Committee’s primary responsibilities include:
- Acting in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all other policy matters pertaining to the Healthy Yucaipa Committee
- Promoting community health
- Reviewing proposals for programs, projects and facilities
- Assisting in supporting one of the goals of the Youth Advisory Committee, which is to promote healthy guidelines and choices for youth
Regular meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month.
The Committee is composed of seven members (five members appointed by the Mayor and each Councilmember and two members appointed by the City Council at-large). The Healthy Yucaipa Committee shall have the option to recommend an eighth member for appointment by the City Council as a non-voting youth member to the Committee. Two City Councilmembers will be appointed to serve as non-voting liaisons to the Healthy Yucaipa Committee. Each committee member’s term (at-large and individual Councilmember appointments) shall run consistent with the general municipal election and shall be for two-years from January 1 to January 1. The student member serves a single ten month term, from September through June.
