The City of Yucaipa has a variety of commissions and committees offering opportunities for individuals to volunteer their services on significant matters. Commissions and committees are important in that they enable citizens to participate in Yucaipa’s government processes. Their activities help shape and influence public policy because they lend a more diverse viewpoint for the City Council to consider. Commissions and committees may be regulatory, policy-setting and/or advisory; and in all cases, members’ contributions are invaluable to the City Council and to the City.
Individuals interested in being appointed to a Commission or Committee are encouraged to complete a Citizen Service Application and return the form to the General Services/City Clerk Department. Appointed Commission and Committee members are required to take an oath of office and attend meetings on a regular basis. In addition, Commission and Committee members may be required to file a Statement of Economic Interests – Form 700 upon assuming office, annually, and upon leaving office.

Local Appointments List
The Local Appointments List is prepared to comply with the requirements of the Maddy Act, California Government Code 54972 et seq, to insure that citizens are aware of the opportunity to apply for future appointments to various City Commissions and Committees. The Local Appointments List indicates a list of appointive terms with the name of the incumbent appointee, the date of the appointment, the date the term expires, and the necessary qualifications for the position. Applications for appointment to a City Commission/Committee and additional information concerning the function of each Commission/Committee, appointment process, and meeting times may be obtained from the General Services/City Clerk Department, 909-797-2489, ext. 221.
